Video credits by Tiago Pereira Video for “Ocreza”, a piece I played for MPAGDP at Mr. Carvalho tinsmith shop, in Viseu, near Sé.

Mr. Carvalho is 90 years old, how much longer he will have his tinsmith shop in Viseu we do not know. The tinsmithing is sonorous, this one particularly has many birds in various places. Joana's music is composed of soundscapes that intersect with textures and melodic repetitions, almost like a film with a beginning, middle and end but not necessarily in this order, in this case her music had the addition of the soundscape of tinsmithing.

Video credits by Tiago FrancoVideo of a Residency I had with Joana Guerra and Manja Ristić for Barreiro Shape + Festival. We did an installation and perfomance in Barreiro, Convento da Madre Deus da Verderena. It was such an amazing experience.


In April 2024, the three sound artists were invited by OUT. RA for a residency in Barreiro, part of the SHAPE+ platform's residency program. This culminated in a sound installation and a concert, both part of the SHAPE+ Barreiro event that took place at the Verderena Convent. This short documentary followed the creative process and contains an interview with the artists talking about their work.
